I always thought that living in America was not necessarily all it is made out to be by everyone. Don't get me wrong, I am glad I grew up here for the shear fact that I've heard the word of God and am able to live my life (to the best I can, anyways) for God-- without the thought even crossing my mind of will I be safe or not. That however, is the only reason I am thankful I grew up in the United States. When I look at the rest of the world, they are so different than us. Mosts places live in huts that leek every night (from rain, snow, wind, etc.) and wake up to go on  a several mile hike just for unsanitary water. Here in the States, we live in 2 and 3 story houses that have running, hot water,  and surpluses of food and materials. Yes, there are places in the states that go through poverty, but that does not even compare to those outside the states. I think it is really sad that we have so much here, and they have so little.
