Funny Fairy Tales #1
The Three Old Chickens
Once upon a time, in a big pumpkin pie house, lived 3 old chickens. These chicken still lived with their mom; even though they were very old. These chicken were so old, that they already had green hair! That tells you how old they were. One day, the 3 old chickens came to their mother and said, “Mom, we want our own house to live in!”
So of course their mother said to them, “If you want your own house, you will have to build it.”
“Really?” said the 3 old chickens.
“Yes, really,” said their mother, “just make sure you spend all summer working on your houses. One important thing though, make sure to build it out of pumpkin pie!”
“Build it out of pumpkin pie?” said the 3 old chickens.
“Yes,” said their mother, “if you don’t, the Big Bad Snowman will wiggle, then jiggle, then knock your house down. Then he will eat you all up!”
“Why won’t he eat me if my house is made of pumpkin pie?” said one of the old chickens.
“Because…The Big Bad Snowman is allergic to pumpkin pie! sheeeeh, have I not taught you anything?” Said their mother. “He will sneeze and won’t be able to wiggle, and jiggle, and knock your house down…”
“OK, we understand,” said the 3 old chickens.
“Alright,” said their mom, “good luck with your houses.”
“Bye mom,” the 3 old chickens said.
“Bye, I love you,” their mom responded.
And so, the 3 old chickens went out to start on their houses.
The first old chicken said, “I don’t want to spend all my summer making my house out of pumpkin pie!!! I think spaghetti noodles will work just fine, and it will take only three days to make.” So he went to the store to buy his spaghetti. He returned home rather quickly with his six hundred boxes of spaghetti noodles, and six hundred jars of spaghetti sauce! He began boiling the water right away. Only a couple of hours later, his water was boiling, then he put the spaghetti in to start cooking. Once the spaghetti was done, it was already eight o’clock. This was his bedtime. So he stopped working on the spaghetti. The next day, he woke up very early- eleven AM. He began making the sauce to hold the spaghetti in place; this took all day to make all six hundred jars. He again stopped for the day at eight o’clock pm, and went to bed. The next morning, all he had to do was make his house, now that he had his spaghetti and sauce made. He finished his house at three pm. Since his house was finished, he decided to go swimming…
While the first old chicken was building his house, the second old chicken was also building her house. She also did not want to spend all summer building her house. She thought a long while what she could make her house out of so that the Big Bad Snowman would not want to go near it! After a long while of thinking, she knew what she was going to make her house out of. “Ham, I do not think snowmen like ham. They will melt from the heat.” she said, “Ham will only take half a summer too, instead of a whole summer!” She began working right away; so she went to the store to buy her ham…two hours later, she returned home with nine hundred hams. By this time it was twelve in the afternoon. She said, “Since I only have eight hours until bedtime, I will just go and play the rest of the day, and I will start cooking the ham tomorrow.” The next day, she began cooking her hams very early in the morning- ten AM! By eight PM, she had only cooked thirty-six hams, she went to bed… The next morning she started cooking more hams… After twenty-three more days of cooking thirty-six hams, she was finally done cooking all the ham! The next day, since all the hams were cooked, she started building her house, this took an additional two days, then she was all done. After looking at her finished house, she decided to go swimming with the first old chicken, since there was half a summer left!
Meanwhile, while the first two chickens had already finished their houses, the third old chicken was still working on his house. He began on the first day of summer; he drew all the blueprints for his pumpkin pie house, so that every thing will be just perfect. Once his blueprints were finished, which took him 3 weeks, he began gathering materials. He first went to the store to gather all the pumpkin he needed. When he came back, he came back with 1,240 pumpkins. He started cooking the pumpkin immediately; he only got 700 pumpkins cooked that night. He then when to bed at 11:30 PM. The next morning he turned his stove on low to cook the next batch of pumpkin, and then he went to the store to gather more stuff. This time, he came back with 8 different things of spices, and one big huge pie crust! By the time he got all the pumpkin cooked, almost half his summer went by. He then started making the pie crust, which took 23 more days. Next he added all the spices needed, and when he was done with that, 12 more days had past. Finally, he began actually building his pumpkin pie house. This took only 6 more days. Then there was only 10 more days of summer left! During those 10 days, he added lots of special touches, like he added a doggie door, put in lamps, and gathered all the food he would need for winter!
After those last 10 hard days of work, summer was over. The air began to get cold; frost started to appear on all the vegetables in the gardens. The 3 old chickens started to pack in their houses for the winter. The first old chicken got in his spaghetti house, the second old chicken got in her ham house, and the third old chicken got in his pumpkin pie house. Then it started to snow!
While it was snowing, the first two old chickens were very cold and hungry. They forgot to gather food for the winter. The third old chicken was not cold at all, he was quite toasty. He was also enjoying a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that he had gathered during the summer. Every one was quiet and cozy in there home until… The BIG BAD SNOWMAN came knocking on some chickens doors. He first came to the first old chicken’s house. The Big Bad Snowman said, “Mr. chick, Mr. chick, let me come in…”
“NO, not by the feathers on my little chicken wings,” said the first old chicken.
“Fine, then I’ll wiggle and I’ll jiggle, and I’ll knock your house down.” The Big Bad Snowman said.
And that is exactly what he did. The Big Bad Snowman tried to eat the old chicken, but lucky for him, he ran really fast right to the second old chickens house. But… The Big Bad Snowman ran too, right to the second old chickens house. He said, “Miss. chick, Miss chick, let me come in.”
She said, “NO, not by the feathers of my little chicken wing!”
“Fine, then I’ll wiggle, and I’ll jiggle, and I’ll knock your house down,” the Big Bad Snowman said.
And that is exactly what he did. Lucky for them they were really fast runners, they ran all the way to the third old chicken’s house. BUT, the Big Bad Snowman once again, ran too. He came to the third old chicken’s house and said, “Mr. chick, Mr. chick, let me come in!”
“NO, not by the feathers of my little chicken wings,” the third old chicken said. ”
Fine, then I’ll wiggle, and I’ll jiggle, and I’ll knock your house down.”
That that is exactly what he… “ACHOO,” the Big Bad Snowman sneezed. “Is there pumpkin pie somewhere?” he said.
The old chickens cried out, “Yes our house. Now you cannot get in!”
Then the Big Bad Snowman got really sad. “If I cannot eat you, how will I eat?” The Big Bad Snowman Shouted from a far distance.
The third old chicken, feeling sorry for the Big Bad Snowman said, “If you are nice I will send a peanut butter and jelly sandwich out to you through my doggie door.”
“Well, it’s not chicken but I’ll take it!” Said the Big Bad Snowman. The three old chickens made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sent it out to him. The Big Bad Snowman was so happy that they gave him a sandwich, that he never ate another chicken again! And the three old chickens and the Big Bad Snowman became friends! After they became friends, the Big Bad Snowman changed his name to The Really Nice Snowman!
