Since Christmas is getting close, I thought I would share some favorite things involving Christmas.
My favorite Christmas song-- Silent Night. This is my favorite because it is so old, but yet we sing it every year and it never sounds old
Favorite Tradition-- On Christmas Eve, we go down to Maryland to my grandparents candlelight service at their church. We have gone there just about every year that I can remember. We sing songs, do the candle thing, and listen to the sermon on Christ birth!
Favorite cookie (this has to do with Christmas because everyone always bakes more cookies at Christmas time:) -- Peanut Butter!!!
Favorite Christmas season thing to do-- Christmas Caroling! :D
One random thing-- I hate to say, and when people say, "Happy Holiday!" It is "Merry Christmas!!!!!" This year though, since I am taking French, I am going to say "Joyeux Noël!" which means Merry Christmas. :)
WOW ~ that looks so cool You'll have to say it for me tomorrow ~ bet it sounds cool too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas song ..... hmmm probably whatever one is playing at the moment! ha ha I like the one we are singing for PT. {of course, I picked it!! hehe}
Favorite tradition ... well from when I was young it was setting up the tree and setting up my grandpa's old train set underneath. My Dad gave that to our family last year!
A favorite "new" tradition that we have started here is a secret person ~ the children all pull a siblings name out of a basket in early December and for the whole month they secretly do nice things for them or do their chores or let them little Dollar Tree gifts on their pillow. Christmas morning they reveal who they had.
Okay ~ one more "new" tradition we started a few years ago is giving away our Christmas ~ we have so much and don't REALLY need anything. So we find someone who has needs and buy things they need. Last year we did this through the Red Cross and even got to deliver things dirctly to the family.
Favorite cookie .... hmmmm PB is awesome ~ throw in some chocolate chips and it just can't get any better!
I love to go Christmas Caroling too!!
Merry Christms!
{hugs}
Sacagawea
Haha, I forgot to say it for you... Maybe tomorrow at youth group?
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what... There is more then one way to spell 'Sacagawea.' Did you know that? You can also spell it as 'Sacajawea,' and sometimes she is referred to as 'Sakakawea.' Just a little History/Spelling lesson there. Haha. ;)
