Here was my first attempt.
The Cat From Kansas
The cat from Kansas
Was a friendly little cat.
He was nice to all.
He played with Robby,
Which was even a turtle,
Until the day's end.
Even at bedtime
He made tea for his mother.
He made her real proud.
One day at his school,
His friend, Sam, was very sick.
He gave his blanket.
Sam was better than.
The cat, however, was not.
From Sam, he got sick.
Next, the worst thing came.
When no one would help the cat,
He got cold and died.
This one is funny how it got distored. It started out as "The Cat in a Hat." Once I get writing and editing, that is what I got.
And here was my second attempt.
The Meaning of Color in a Haiku
When gold that I see,
Gain wealth and prosperity--
Still is better there
Black that I capture,
Bringing sin that I chauffeur
Will be gone as air.
Because of the red,
I lie safe-- His blood was shed.
This I now can come.
White is so special,
Showing purity, no flaw.
Which we've not become.
Blue's for the Spirit,
Who helps me get that merit;
He leads through my day.
Like the growing plants,
I grow to take His glance,
Each and every day.
This one, I got my idea from a bracelet I made in VBS when I was younger. It had all the colors that told the "Jesus Story," but had no words.
nicely done ~ didn't count the syllables .... I'll take your word for it :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Yes, trust me, they have 17 in each stanza. I counted each one many, many, many, MANY times. :)
